Alternative treatment for engorgement

Daddy T wants me to play the lottery now. It turns out 1 in 1000 women get the type of breast tissue lumps I have under the armpit, so with my luck, we should be able to collect some winnings pretty soon.

I’ve now been referred to a private midwife at The Women’s Wellness Centre, and she has visited me at home and helped treat the lump with acupuncture and massage. I’m using the Rejuvinating Oil by Cocooi to massage the lump, and I’ve also been advised to take a homeopathic remedy for long-term results.

The good news is that I don’t have mastitis, and I don’t need surgery either, which was my biggest fear. The bad news is that I might have the lump as long as I breastfeed since I have breast tissue under the armpit and this is why that area is also engorged.

Knowing this, it might be a blessing that the summer wedding season is coming to an end. Sleeveless party dresses will not be a pretty sight on me right now.

  1. Oh no! Never had a lump like this but I know the feeling of engorgment and it isn’t nice 🙁 How old is your baby?Hopefully things will be a little less painful when your supply settles down. Loving your blog, by the way 🙂

Thank you, Susanne! Baby Girl is almost two weeks old now, and the lump has shrunk, so it seems to be going in the right direction. I’ve also been advised to drink peppermint tea and sage tea to decrease the milk supply. It’s probably worth trying everything!
