3 children’s afternoon teas in London

Children’s afternoon tea at The Langham
At the stately The Langham hotel, young visitors can enjoy an elegant children’s afternoon tea in the hotel known for being the first hotel to serve afternoon tea. When we went there with the children a few years ago, there were jigsaw puzzle sandwiches and a cake that could be assembled by diners into the shape of a dog. As part of the list of scrumptious treats, the current menu features a milk chocolate shell and strawberry marshmallow, and the Children’s Afternoon Tea at Palm Court is £29.50 for guests aged 12 and under.

Science Afternoon Tea at The Ampersand Hotel
In the Drawing Rooms at The Ampersand Hotel in South Kensington, families can book a themed Science Afternoon Tea, inspired by the neighbourhood’s Science Museum. The creative menu, which I’m planning on trying soon, features unique treats like a dinosaur fossil chocolate covered in chocolate ‘soil’ and planet mousse. On AfternoonTea.co.uk, there’s been a 50% offer for Science Afternoon Tea on Tuesdays to Thursdays this month, and when checking today there was availability for tomorrow Wednesday 23 October.

Peppa Pig afternoon bus tour with Brigit’s Bakery London
Brigit’s Bakery offers families the opportunity to enjoy afternoon tea while taking in some of London’s top sights from the comfort of a double decker bus. While afternoon tea sightseeing tours have previously been for older children and adults and I’ve only seen the bus at an event in the past, there’s now a Peppa Pig-themed 90-minute afternoon tea London tour running several times a week, and from 22 to 31 October this tour will take on a Halloween theme. On the tour, families pass Big Ben, The Houses of Parliament, Westminster Abbey, Hyde Park, Nelson’s Column, Tower Bridge, St Paul’s Cathedral, Borough Market, Green Park, Piccadilly Circus and more. The tour description also notes there will be tablets with a Peppa Pig-guided animation of the London tour on the tables, as well as activities and songs to sing to keep children entertained. Peppa Pig afternoon tea tour starts from £35 per child and £45 per adult.
