03 colourful kids buys to cheer you up on a grey day
Handmade tapestry cushions from Tootsa MacGinty
London brand Tootsa MacGinty’s homeware collection includes a range of sweet handmade tapestry stitch cushions, including a rainy cloud cushion (£90) made in France. This rainy cloud looks cheerful instead of grey, and if that’s not enough to get the weekend off to a good start, the half-price knitwear sale on the Tootsa MacGinty site is worth checking out too!
Feel-good accessories from Papinee
Children’s accessory brand Papinee has a pop-up store at Harrods until 9 February, and the colourful animal toys by Papinee are aimed at inspiring children, taking them on a journey and sparking their imagination. Each animal set comes with a storytelling kit, explaining how to story tell to children at different ages, and for each set sold Papinee also donates a colouring kit to inspire a child in need of hope. The Papinee Deer (pictured above) is inspired by New York City culture, and has black and white details, making it suitable even for babies who can’t see other colours yet.
Porsche foot to floor car by Flying Gadgets
When I went to the Toy Fair 2016 at Kensington Olympia last week, there was a bright red toy that caught my attention. It was the adorable new red Porsche Foot to Floor car (£99) from Flying Gadgets. This is the coolest toddler ride-on car I’ve seen so far, and it looks super sweet for a little boy. It’s currently only available in white on the Flying Gadgets website.
