03 London family Christmas experiences to book early
Lapland UK
From 10am today, priority bookings open for pre-registered customers to Lapland UK–a truly special Father Christmas experience that doesn’t require flying the family to the Nordics. Lapland UK is conveniently located a stone throw from London on the Windsor Estate, and it is the place to go for families with children who believe in Father Christmas. Before the day, children receive personalised invitations from Father Christmas, and on the day, families can enjoy a three and a half hour experience, taking them through a magical snow-covered winterland, the toy factory, Mother Christmas’s kitchen, the Elf Village and then to Father Christmas’s cottage. Children can join in, helping the elves make toys in the toy factory and baking with Mother Christmas in the kitchen. Whilst in the village, they can skate on a frozen pond, meet Father Christmas’ huskies, write and post their letter to Father Christmas at the elf post office, visit the Village cafe or Elf restaurant, pop into the Elf Emporium and enjoy a trip to Pixie-Mixie andher amazing sweet shop. Tickets start from £65 depending on date and time.
Harrods Christmas Grotto
I think it’s probably close to a month since the Harrods Christmas Grotto became a topic of discussion on the London mummy scene, and it’s the one Christmas event I’ve realised really needs to be booked extremely early. I skipped it two years ago, but was very impressed with the experience last year when Harrods had added fun activities for kids before the meeting with Father Christmas. I loved that the experience was more than a meet-and-greet, and it’s free to book apart from a £10 booking fee put back on the reward card for reward cardholders after the date.
Victorian Christmas Spectacular
For a third consecutive year Chaika Events is hosting a Christmas Spectacular, and this year’s theme is Victorian Christmas. The two-hour luxe family event, which we reviewed two years ago runs at 11am and 2pm on Sunday 4 December at The Royal Horseguards Hotel. There will be artists and characters, Santa’s Grotto, traditional sweet stalls, and a performance and gifts for the children. Tickets are available for £70 per person for 2 people or less for larger families.
