23 London family Christmas celebrations to book tickets for now
Winter Wonderland with Monkey Music
Children’s music programme Monkey Music is hosting special Christmas-themed Saturday workshops in the morning on 28 November at Cineworld Cinema in Fulham Road. The fun classes, where there will be Christmas toys to enjoy and perhaps even snow, are ideal for parents who miss out on their little ones’ weekly Monkey Music classes. To book tickets for the Christmas classes, which are £18 per child, email Monkey Music at chelsea.westminster@monkeymusic.co.uk.
Children’s Christmas Spectacular with Chaika Events
Last year we were truly amazed with Chaika Events’ Children’s Christmas Spectacular, which we had been invited to, and this year it looks like they have another super impressive and action-packed agenda. There will not only be real reindeer and real penguins in this years’ Winter Wonderland at London Marriott Hotel Grosvenor Square, but also a Lapland-themed show, a Christmas polar bear and more. Parents can enjoy festive canapés and champagne while watching their little ones be entertained by all the winter fun. Standard tickets are £150 for one child, £100 per additional child and £50 per adult. There are two performances this year, with events starting at both 11am and 2pm on Saturday 28 November.
The Snowflake Princess and Pudding the Elf Celebration with Fairytale Friends
In Battersea, Fairytale Friends is hosting a Christmas event with the Snowflake Princess and Pudding the Elf in St Barnabas Church on Tuesday 22 December from 1-2pm. During the festive workshop, there will be cookie decorating, party music and dancing, a magical Christmas story and a handmade surprise to take home for little ones, who can come dressed as a princess, elf or snowman. Tickets are £12 per child, or £20 for 2 siblings.
Hi! I will be visiting London with my 2 girls and wondered what local parents do on New Years eve with their kiddos. Also, is there any family friendly location to watch the fireworks?
Hi Maureen! We would normally stay at home in the evening on New Year’s Eve and watch the fireworks on BBC or visit friends, as that’s easiest with the little ones. The actual fireworks is a ticketed event, and I wouldn’t feel comfortable taking our young children there. I like the idea of celebrating a bit earlier in the day instead, and perhaps catching a show on West End. Elf The Musical, for example, has a matinee performance at 2.30 that day, and Disney on Ice is on at 11 in the morning at the O2 on 31 December. There are also a number of ice rinks scattered around the city, with some of the most popular ones being Somerset House and National History Museum. In addition, Hyde Park Winter Wonderland is open from 10am to 10pm, featuring a large number of rides, a Christmas market and more. I would also check with some of the city’s larger hotels to see if they have any family-friendly evening activities. Hope you have a fantastic time in London! Tine x
