03 London family offers to keep kids entertained this summer
1. Kids go free to top London shows with Kids Week 2016
Check out Kids Week 2016, which is on now and runs until 7 September, to catch a show on West End without paying for your little one’s ticket. As part of Kids Week 2016, a child aged 16 or under can see shows for free when accompanied by a full paying adult. Two additional children can go at half price, and there are no booking, postage or transaction fees to pay. More than 30 top London shows take part in Kids Week 2016, including The Tiger Who Came to Tea, now playing in Chelsea at Cadogan Hall, Scooby Doo Live! Musical Mysteries, which is coming to London Palladium for four days, and top West End musicals like The Lion King, Mamma Mia and Wicked. There are also a number of events for kids at London theatres taking place under Kids Week 2016, as well as show and activity packages to book for families.
2. Free pirate shows at Museum of London Docklands
Head to Museum of London Docklands to catch a free pirate show. Shiver me timbers, a 45-minute interactive pirate show for over 5s, is running at 12.30 and 2.30pm every day Wednesday to Saturday, and there are also special 30-minute performances for under 5s at 11.30am on the same days. Entry to the museum is free.
3. Biscuiteers 2-4-1 Tuesdays
The Biscuiteers icing boutiques in Northcote Road (see picture at the top) and Notting Hill are running 2-4-1 Tuesdays all summer, so you can get creative for less when icing delicious biscuits with the kids. I’ve regularly taken my daughter to Biscuiteers and we’ve often met up with friends there too, as we love the cute cafés, fun icing activity and welcoming atmosphere.
