3 new chapter books for young readers

I regularly receive books to review, and here are three new chapter books we’ve enjoyed for young readers

Isadora Moon Has a Sleepover by Harriet Muncaster (Oxford University Press, £5.99)
For young readers who like a bit of pink magic, look out for the ninth book about the wonderfully unique Isadora Moon, who is half vampire, half fairy. The new book sees Isadora planning a sleepover with her best friend and the two of them entering a baking competition, adding the usual Isadora Moon magic touch. Young readers will enjoy the charming illustrations in black and pink, as well as short chapters. The popular series, recommended for ages 5 and over, has been translated into 27 languages to date, and the next book Isadora Moon Puts on a Show will be out in September.

Magical Kingdom of Birds: The Missing Fairy Wrens (Oxford University Press, £5.99)
It’s about time that I write about the Magical Kingdom of Birds series by Anne Booth, as six-year-old Big Girl quickly became a fan when the first book came out last year. The third book in this series celebrating the natural world–which is recommended for children aged six and over–will be out this week – Magical Kingdom of Birds: The Missing Fairy Wrens. In the latest book, the main character Maya goes on a magical adventures to save tiny fairy wrens and her best friend Patch. Young readers will enjoy the pretty black and white illustrations by Rosie Butcher and activities at the back of the book.

Hotel Flamingo by Alex Milway (Piccadilly Press, £5.99)
For young readers enjoying books about animals, another recent release is Alex Milway’s new Hotel Flamingo. According to Big Girl, this is a sweet story about a girl called Anna, who is the new owner of Hotel Flamingo, a hotel where both guests and employees are animals. The first book in the series was out in February, and the next one in the series is coming out nearer the summer. The 192-page book features cute black and pink illustrations.
