English National Ballet’s My First Ballet series, created especially for young children, is back for Easter 2021, but now as an online performance. Adapted to an hour in length and with a narrator to help young audiences follow the story, My First Ballet: Swan Lake is now available to rent for £4.99 for three days from ondemand.ballet.org.uk or the ENB at Home app on all iOS and Android devices. The production was recorded for archive when it toured the UK in 2018, and it is performed by students of English National Ballet School.
Dr Seuss’s The Lorax from Old Vic: In Camera
Between 14 and 17 April, Dr Seuss’s The Lorax will be streamed live from the stage at The Old Vic in celebration of the story’s 50th anniversary. Adapted especially for the Old Vic: In Camera series of online live theatre, the ‘pint-sized’ version tells the story of the Lorax’s battle to save his beloved trees and Paradise Valley from the go-getting Once-ler. The running time is 1 hour, 50 minutes with a 15-minute interval, and one ticket is for watching on one screen.
Where the Bugaboo Lives from Little Angel Theatre|
For an interactive online theatre, families can catch Little Angel Theatre’s new digital production of Sean Taylor and Neal Layton’s story ‘Where the Bugaboo Lives’. Watching on Zoom, audiences can follow Floyd and sister Ruby on their journey to the valley behind their house, and decide what path they take and what monsters they meet. Aimed at children aged 5 to 11, the running time is approximately 45 minutes, and tickets are £13.50 per household.
