03 restaurants for an early Sunday breakfast in London
When Big Girl was six months old, I started feeling like an expert on top breakfast places with 8am opening on a Sunday. We went through a phase of doing a lot of 8am breakfasts with a baby in tow, and at one point we even managed two meals out before noon.
Some of the restaurants that became our favourites during those months are still places I like going when we have the odd Sunday we manage to get two children out of the house for an early morning meal:
Granger & Co
The Bill Granger restaurants have been long time favourites of mine, and the relaxed and stylish Granger & Co restaurants in Notting Hill and Chelsea both open at 8am on Sundays. A little taste of Australia!
Hally’s
Parsons Green restaurant Hally’s has a cool and relaxed atmosphere, and it opens at 8am every day, including Sundays. With white-painted brick walls and spots of colour such as yellow Tolix bar chairs, Hally’s reminds me of some of the places we visited last time we were in California and there’s an all-day brunch menu on weekends with classics as well as unique California-inspired dishes.
Colbert
The Corbin & King restaurant Colbert on Sloane Square is a classic French bistro with red booth seating and a Parisian feel. It opens at 8am every day, including Sundays, and it’s the place to go for good food and attentive service in a chic setting. Sister restaurant The Wolseley by Green Park also opens at 8am on a Sunday and is another favourite of mine.
For a later start, some of my breakfast favourites that open at 9am on a Sunday include Ivy Chelsea and Megan’s by the Green
