03 stylish and practical spring hats for baby and kids
After a third GP visit with a little one with an ear infection, I figured it was time to go back to my roots and shop the Scandinavian way. I needed to buy Baby Boy a new hat that he would want to wear in spring, as he’s kept taking his other hat off.
I’ve found it difficult to find hats that are suitable for keeping Baby Boy warm in this weather, as many brands appear to sell either winter hats or cotton hats for newborns.
Here are my three favourite options for spring hats for baby and kids:
1. Cotton beanie from Mini Rodini
Swedish childrenswear brand Mini Rodini has a wide selection of cotton beanies. I’ve bought Baby Boy a white reversible Panda beanie from Mini Rodini, and it’s soft on his skin and very practical with the print on both sides. Mini Rodini has beanies in a variety of prints and colours in both baby and kids sizes.
2. Merino wool beanie from WoolLand Norway
Norwegian brand WoolLand Norway offers merino wool clothing for all seasons, and the soft merino wool beanies come in spring colours like a gorgeous heavenly blue (£29), which I think would look great for spring. The brand also has a new summer merino wool collection out now, featuring timeless pieces in extra light merino wool.
3. Cashmere beanie from Sue Hill
British childrenswear brand Sue Hill has a selection of hand knitted hats, and when Big Girl was little I dressed her in a cashmere hat at this time of year. The cashmere hats are also light and airy, ideal for protecting ears but not being too wrapped up. One of my favourites is the Forget Me Not Beanie hat (available in sizes from 0-6 months to 5 to 6 years, from £29).
