03 things to book now in London
Official London Theatre’s New Year Sale
The beginning of the year can be a brilliant time to catch a musical or theatre show in London, and it can be worth looking at the discounts in the Official London Theatre’s New Year Sale. The sale includes West End family favourites like Disney’s Aladdin and Matilda The Musical, as well as theatre shows like The Wider Earth at Natural History Museum, Room on the Broom at Lyric Theatre and The Wind in the Willows at Polka Theatre. Tickets are £10, £20, £30 or £40 depending on the show and seating, and offers are valid for selected performances until 15 February 2019 subject to availability. (Please note some of the shows mentioned finish before this date.)
Giffords Circus
Several friends have recommended Giffords Circus, a live circus performance that is back on tour in summer 2019. This year’s 70s-themed show Xanadu, which will be at Chiswick House and Gardens in London from 27 June to 8 July 2019, promises audiences a family-friendly show with musicians, horses, clowns and tumblers. The running time is 90 minutes, and seating is unreserved.
RHS Chelsea Flower Show
For parents or families with older children planning to visit the RHS Chelsea Flower Show in May, these tickets are also on sale and always seem to be worth booking early. Children under 5 are not admitted to the show, and older children attending the show will need a full-price ticket. Families with young children wanting to get in the spirit of this uniquely British event may want to explore the often beautifully-decorated shopfronts in the area instead of going to the actual flower show.
