03 things for families to do in South West London this weekend
Get into the spirit of Easter at Peggy Porschen
It’s impossible to miss the new splash of pink near the fire station on King’s Road, and we were excited to see a new outpost of our favourite cupcake place opening there this week. The new King’s Road Peggy Porschen is huge in comparison to its petite sister on Elizabeth Street, and it boasts lots of tables, making it ideal for families looking for a place to enjoy a special cupcake treat. When I visited today, the chocolate on the babyccino was bunny-shaped and there were several Easter-themed cupcakes on the menu. Parents with babies will also appreciate the baby changing facilities on the ground floor.
Visit the Kidz Kingdom Children’s Fair on Parsons Green
John Parnham’s Fun Fair, which we’ve been invited to, is popping up on Parsons Green this week, and the token-operated fun fair features a variety of rides popular with young children. Entry is free and the fun fair is open from 11am to early evenings on Saturday 16 and Sunday 17 March. Tokens are available to buy for £1.20 each or 10 for £10.
Try a pony park lesson in Richmond Park
As spring is fast approaching, many families will be focusing on getting outdoors more and making the most of the parks. One of the activities we enjoyed last year was horse-riding at one of the two South West London Stag Lodge Stables locations. Stag Lodge Stables in Richmond Park offers 30-minute pony park lessons (£25 on a weekday and £30 on the weekend, ages 3-6), as well as horse riding lessons and courses for older children and adults. Call to book.
