03 tips for booking last minute half term events
My Great Orchestral Adventure
Royal Albert Hall is hosting a family concert My Great Orchestral Adventure in the main auditorium on Wednesday 26 October, and when I checked yesterday there were still some seats available. The family concert is aimed at children aged 3 and over, and features singing, dancing and a full symphony orchestra. In the concert, the conductor of the orchestra has lost his baton and is very unhappy, and the audience is taken on an adventure to help bring happiness back to the orchestra. There are two concerts on Wednesday at 1pm and 4.30pm.
Around the World in 80 Days
At Polka Theatre in Wimbledon, families can travel to four continents with Around the World in 80 Days, a show recommended for children aged 6 to 11. There are performances on Wednesday, Thursday, Friday this week and on the weekend, and when I checked yesterday there were tickets available. The Polka Theatre show running this week How to Hide a Lion, which is recommended for children aged three to six, is sold out this week, but tickets are available for performances in November.
Mrs Armitage and the Big Wave
The stage adaptation of Quentin Blake’s surf-themed picture book Mrs Armitage and the Big Wave, a Ga Ga Theatre production, is touring London, and there are several performances this week (see Mummy in the City review HERE). The show is designed for children aged 4 to 7, and there are performances in Clapham and Brixton on Tuesday and Wednesday. When I checked yesterday there were availability for those performances, but Royal Albert Hall performances and a Clapham performance later in the week were sold out.
