05 Easter egg activities for kids in London 2016
The last two Easters we’ve been at The Roof Gardens for a fantastic family Easter egg hunt experience, but this year the Easter egg hunt at The Roof Gardens seems to be for big kids only (over 21s). To get into the spirit of Easter, here are five other options for Easter family fun in and around London 2016:
1. Easter at Coca-Cola London Eye
From 29 March to 9 April, Coca-Cola London Eye will be transformed into a Charlie and the Chocolate Factory themed universe with lollipop trees and other confectionary shaped treats. Visitors can book an actor-led Easter experience, including a goody bag with a souvenir Golden Ticket, Hotel Chocolat gift and an activity pack. The experience also includes boarding with Professor Pop and access to the Chocolate Factory’s London HQ–a themed activity room.
2. Easter egg trail at Ham House
At Ham House, a National Trust property by River Thames, there’s a Cadbury Easter egg trail, where visitors can look for the Easter bunny’s clues around the garden and collect a chocolate treat at the end. The Cadury Easter egg trail is £3 plus normal admission, and the trail is available from 10am to 4:30pm. There will also be other family activities, such as storytelling and art activities.
3. Easter egg trail and activities at Battersea Park Children’s Zoo
In Battersea Park Children’s Zoo, children can search for colourful painted Easter eggs around the zoo between 25 and 28 March. To take part in the quiz, there’s a £1.50 fee and little ones can collect a prize at the end. 0n 25 March there’s also an opportunity to join the zoo keepers when they prepare Easter-themed feeds for the animals.
4. Easter egg decorating at Daylesford in Pimlico
At Daylesford Organic in Pimlico, Easter comes early, with celebrations taking place on 19 March between 11am and 3pm. There will be an array of activities, including face painting, barbecued organic hotdogs, egg decorating and free balloons. There will also be Easter celebrations in Daylesford Organic in Notting Hill, but the egg decorating is only in Pimlico. For the Daylesford Easter Egg Hunt, head to Daylesford Farm Shop in Kingham in Gloucestershire on 27 March. The Daylesford Easter Egg Hunt and egg decorating classes in Kingham will run between 10.30am and 12.30pm on 27 March, and no booking is required for these free events.
