05 fun South West London family summer events
Elizabeth Street Summer Party 2015
On Wednesday 10 June, charming Elizabeth Street in Belgravia is hosting its annual summer party, a street party which starts a 6pm and includes a children’s party from 6-7pm. We always make an effort to go to the Elizabeth Street Christmas market, and I’ve heard from other mums that the Elizabeth Street Summer Party and the children’s event has been fantastic in previous years. The street (see picture above from Peggy Porschen in Elizabeth Street) will be lined with stalls and there will be live music and entertainment.
Kids watermelon carving event at Bluebird
On Thursday 11 June at 4pm, Bluebird in Chelsea is hosting a kids watermelon carving event in the Food Store, where the team will demonstrate how to carve watermelons into something special. Tickets, which can be booked via phone or email, are £20 per child and includes watermelon, carving equipment and one drink per child. Later this month, on 25 June at 4pm, there’s a kids cookie decorating event in the Food Store at Bluebird (£15 per child), where little ones can get creative with lots of icing and decorations.
Webb’s Road Traders Event
On Friday 12 June and Saturday 13 June, the hidden Webb’s Road in Battersea, where there are several cute shops, is hosting a two-day summer shopping event. Each shop is offering something special, such as discounts or free gifts. Welcoming pottery studio Sammy Duder on Webb’s Road is offering a free decoration to paint with every purchase on these days, and there will also be some extra fun crafts to celebrate.
Fair on the Green 2015
On Saturday 4 July, Parsons Green is the place to be for families, with Fair on the Green 2015, part of the Celebrating Fulham festival, bringing more than 100 stalls, two stages–including a dedicated children’s stage–fairground rides, a bouncy castle, a climbing frame and more to the green. The event starts at 11.30am and finishes at 5.30pm.

On Sunday 12 July, family-focused Northcote Road in Battersea will be closed to traffic and the street will be lined with stalls, three fairground rides, a giant screen where the Wimbledon Men’s final will be shown, and a stage with live entertainment. The event, taking place from 11am to 5pm.
