Air New Zealand opens ‘This is how we fly’ pop-up in Soho

Air New Zealand pop upThis morning I made a new discovery I had to tell Daddy T about as soon as he called me. It was something I heard about at the Air New Zealand ‘This is how we fly’ pop-up in Soho, which I had been invited to visit and collaborate with.

I was very excited to see that Air New Zealand had a concept called Economy Skycouch–economy seats with footrests that can be bent up to create a flat seating area.

The seats, which I’ve never seen before, are on display at the first ever Air New Zealand pop-up designed to let customers ‘try before you fly’.

In addition to trying the different seats in business, premium economy and economy, pop-up visitors can taste food inspired by the in-flight menus, get a feel for an Air New Zealand lounge and watch clips from the destinations Air New Zealand fly to from London – Los Angeles and Auckland.

Visiting the pop-up yesterday made me want to start planning a new holiday with the family. I felt really inspired to book a new trip. Even 22-month-old Baby Boy, who had tagged along, seemed to like the in-flight experience. He kept returning to the pop-up’s food bar and pointing at the mini fruit pots and shouting ‘more, more, more’.

In fact, I told Daddy T that we were both ready to fly.

I could see the Economy Skycouch being ideal for families, and my first impression was that this type of seating option could make it easier for us to keep the children happy on a long-haul flight and keep toys contained in one area.

It was interesting to see the seating options on display in the pop-up and it made me think that we should consider a holiday to California.

Air New Zealand flies to Los Angeles and Auckland from London, and the Air New Zealand pop-up on 147 Wardour Street is open from 9am to 5pm on Tuesday 25 and from 9am to 8pm on Wednesday 26 April. It is free to visit, and priority places can be reserved online.
