0The Angry Birds Movie hits UK cinemas today
On Monday morning I couldn’t get the printer to work, and it was a disaster in the eyes of three-year-old Big Girl. She was determined to go to nursery that morning to do an Angry Birds show and tell and she needed me to supply the relevant photos.
The highlight from her weekend had been meeting three furry birds–Red, Chuck and Bomb–and the Peperami Stunt Animal and watching the new 3D Angry Birds Movie with Daddy T at a an early screening at the Sony Pictures HQ, which we had been invited to by Peperami.
The Angry Birds Movie hits cinemas today, and the 3D animation is the first movie about the bird made famous from the addictive smartphone game of the same name. Despite never having caught the Angry Birds hysteria before, Daddy T and Big Girl exited the screening with big smiles, talking about the silly Mighty Eagle who had done a wee in the water.
The movie tells the story of pigs arriving at Bird Island, and main character Red and his friends, including Mighty Eagle, working together to save the birds eggs from being taken by the pigs.
The film has received mixed reviews, but according to Daddy T, it was a laugh-out-loud funny family film, which he praised for the number of clever jokes aimed at parents. Big Girl, who is becoming a mini movie expert, liked the characters–despite Red’s angry looks–and there were only a few times she had to look away because the film was a bit scary for her.
Meeting Chuck, however, was not scary at all. She’s claiming Chuck is her best friend, and based on the reaction of an excited Baby Boy who got to meet the cuddly characters too, the sweet-looking Bomb might be his best friend.
Watch out, birdies!
