0Babyproofing the coffee table
Babyproofing is still stressing me out. I tried searching for a table guard yesterday, but the only relevant products that came up were edge guards. I really want something to cover the entire coffee table though.
But I guess I’m alone on this one. Table guards have clearly not been viewed as an attractive investment opportunity for baby equipment companies. Perhaps there simply aren’t that many newlyweds who go out buying zinc industrial trunks for coffee tables before starting a family.
It’s potentially just in our case that covering edges on the coffee table only seems to solve a tiny part of the problem. In fact, I was originally planning to move our current coffee table, but I’ve changed my mind now.
The new plan is to keep it, but to cover it up. I’ve bought the Clevamama Edge Guard, which is 4 metres long – longer than some of the other edge guards I’ve read about.
After attaching this, I’ll try to use my yoga mat or towels to make the rest of the table padded.
We’ll then cover the entire trunk with a cloth or a throw, which I think will be a win-win. It will cover the padding and look nicer, and it will ensure Baby Girl can’t chew on the edge guard, as I’ve read edge guards can become choking hazards if the baby were to chew off a piece of it.
Who says problem-solving skills are only required when in full-time work. There are definitely more than enough problems to solve in my home.
