Baby’s christening speech from mum

Dear Baby Boy

I can’t believe it’s already 14 weeks since you were born. Or more specifically 14 weeks since “Dr Mark cut you out of mummy’s tummy” as your sister tends to say.

You had a slightly tough start, with a heater, blood test and antibiotics. You were easily upset, completely disinterested in sleeping anywhere else than in mummy’s arms. In fact, you were so upset the nurse in charge of the baby crèche in hospital came to ensure mummy knew about their service since they could hear the screaming and felt sorry for mummy who was alone with a baby who cried that much.

But despite all the crying we think you’re the best baby in the world, and you have an enthusiastic fan club. We think you’re a little genius when it sounds like you say “mama” when you’re whining, and your big sister gets super excited and applaud you when you do tummy time and lift your head; spin a flower on your BabyBjorn bouncer; or bat the squirrel on your Fisher-Price mat.

You’re a star. A really fantastic 8 kilo big baby boy, who we’ll support and cheer on to the end.

Your sister, daddy and mummy are your best friends, and we all love you.

Happy christening, Baby Boy!
