0Baby’s first banana brunch
I’m not sure we’re ready to start inviting guests for Sunday brunch yet. One person in the family needs a bit more practice first.
We often had friends over for brunch on weekends before Baby Girl was born, and yesterday we tried introducing her to the concept. We were sitting down around the table with three weaning spoons and mashed banana on our plates.
Daddy T and I were making yummy noises to encourage Baby Girl to enjoy the meal. She was in her Stokke Tripp Trapp chair and seemed happy to sit at the table in between us.
The only thing she didn’t like about brunch was the food – and that was why it ended up being a pretty short meal. As soon as she’d tasted the banana, it came back up together with the last milk feed, and we had to get her out of the chair immediately to change her clothes.
When I told Grandma N, she asked why Baby Girl hadn’t been wearing a bib at brunch. But she had. It’s just that bibs don’t typically cover legs and feet.
I don’t think we’ll be searching for new bibs though. But we’ll most probably wait a few more weeks before inviting friends over for these joyous brunch occasions.
