Baby’s first tooth

Baby toysYesterday was a big day. I was super excited and wanted to share the happy news with everyone. It was one day before Baby Girl turned seven months, and the day she got her very first tooth.

Last week, I noticed a red area in her lower jaw. On Sunday, Daddy T and I discussed that she was drooling more than usual and on Monday evening it felt like there was something sharp in her mouth when I was breastfeeding her.

I couldn’t see the tooth in the middle of her lower jaw then, but the next morning I tried looking for it again. That time, I could feel something sharp, and when she bent her head backwards I could see her tiny tooth. Too cute

I showed it off to everyone we ran into. I even tried showing it to the waiter who served us lunch. By the afternoon, I was running out of people to show it to, so I came close to texting Baby Girl’s paediatrician Dr Kingi Aminu with the update.

I’m not sure why I was so psyched about the tooth though. There’s always something new with our little one, but this time it felt like a big change – perhaps almost a realisation that Baby Girl won’t be a baby for very long.
