Baby’s shopping list for grandparents

Grandma S and Grandpa A came over yesterday, and found a business card where they could write down some things they needed to get before Baby Girl visits them. But it was rather optimistic to think a shopping list for Baby Girl would fit on the back of a business card.

She’s one of those demanding guests. She needs more than bed, towel and body wash. In fact, Baby Girl practically needs one of everything in the baby section at the supermarket.

I started listing what she needs for a nappy change, and Grandma S wrote down all the basics, such as changing mat, travel mats, nappies, nappy sacks, wipes, Weleda Nappy Change Cream and cotton pads.

There was hardly any space left to write on, and I hadn’t even started on bathtime. Our little princess can’t do without her baby towels, cloths, massage oil and her Weleda Shampoo & Bodywash.

After that I moved on to the kitchen. She needs her own washing-up brush for bottles and dummies, and for awake time, she needs a colourful toy to play with.

In addition, it’s not only enough having the equipment in place. Her bed linen and towels need to be washed before use with a non-biological, sensitive laundry liquid, and the bath tub needs to be cleansed with a cleansing product with ecological credentials, such as one from Ecover. Who would have thought a little visitor would be such hard work.
