0Back to School with Captain America-style lunchbox
‘Make Captain America food! Make Captain America food!’
On Friday Big Girl didn’t ask for pasta bolognese for dinner for once. She had decided she wanted Captain America food.
I never thought Captain America food would be something I had to add to my list of dinner options, but four-year-old Big Girl had been very excited about our morning activity when she had helped me make a healthy Captain America-themed lunchbox for Baby Boy.
Marvel’s Captain America: Civil War is out on DVD today, and although the superhero success film is more for Daddy T than Baby Boy and Big Girl, we love our superheroes and were excited to be invited by Disney to join in the celebrations by doing a Back to School Captain America lunchbox post.
Big Girl helped me make the most important part of the lunchbox- the Captain America superhero badge, which she drew and cut out. We used shape cutters to make the badge on Baby Boy’s sandwich and little stars in his yoghurt, and we then added lots of fresh strawberries to give Baby Boy special powers.
When we opened the lunchbox while waiting for Big Girl who was at a holiday camp, it wasn’t just the parents around who smiled, but Baby Boy looked super happy. The only issue was there was no Captain America food left for Big Girl after an hour of Baby Boy dipping in and out of his superhero lunch.
