0Battersea Fairy Feet fairy dance class for girly toddlers and preschoolers
‘Would you like to go on your scooter to buy an ice cream?’
‘No, I want to go to fairy dance’
Baby Girl was extremely upset when I picked her up from nursery without having brought her scooter one day, so I tried to suggest we could go home and get the scooter and go buy an ice cream instead. But despite ice cream probably being her favourite treat it didn’t work. What she wanted to do was to go to a Fairy Feet dance class with Fairytale Friends in Battersea.
I had taken her to a trial session for the brand new 30-minute fairy dance class in St Barnabas Church opposite Clapham Common one Monday, and although she seemed quite shy at first, she was really excited about the class afterwards and was thrilled to go back for a second time.
In the class, which caters for children aged between two and four and is led by Fairy Blossom dressed in an impressive purple fairy costume, all the young fairies get to wear fairy wings and several come dressed up in tutus or costumes. This girly class seems ideal as an alternative or addition to ballet classes, and it features original music and is fun for girls who love fairies, dressing up and all things sparkly.
At the end of the class, the young fairies are given glittery fairy dust in exchange for returning their fairy wings and other props, such as fairy wands. Mums and carers can wait in a sofa on the side, so the class is ideal for mums with babies, for example, as there is no participation required.
Fairytale Friends offers a pay as you go option where you pay £8 per class per child depending on availability, and the alternative is to book a block of four sessions for £28.
