0Review: Bespoke children’s birthday cakes from Cakes by Robin
– Minnie! Sand play!
Baby Girl seemed thrilled to see her birthday cake at her party last weekend.
It turned out Minnie shared the same interests as her. Minnie liked sand play and beach holidays too.
We had received the amazing Minnie Mouse cake to review for her party from Cakes by Robin, and it had been delivered to our chosen party venue – No 11 Pimlico Road – an hour before the party as planned.
As soon as I saw the fun cake I wanted to show it to Baby Girl. I knew she would love it–and I loved seeing her get excited about it.
But she wasn’t the only excited 2-year-old at the party. When the beautifully-designed cake was brought out and placed on a sideboard, several of the children wanted to sit next to it and parents took lots of photos.
I’m not surprised Minnie Mouse was popular though. She looked very cute in her polka dot swimsuit–which we had wanted her to wear as Baby Girl had been carrying around her beach-ready Minnie Mouse all summer–and I think the creative beach design was spot on for a summer birthday.
The bespoke cake became a talking point, and many commented the chocolate cake inside was yummy too.
A bespoke cake makes a brilliant centrepiece!
Cake pricing varies according to the design and how many handmade elements are included. A cake like the Minnie Mouse one I received to review from Cakes by Robin would have cost £125 and delivery to No 11 Pimlico Road would have been £25. Cakes from Cakes by Robin start from £35, and the cost of delivery is roughly the cost of a cab from Cakes by Robin in SW18 to the party venue.
