0Best classic toys for babies and toddlers
When Baby Girl came to visit grandparents on Monday, she had to survive a whole day without toys. The only things on offer were two plastic bottles and a bucket. But even after Grandpa P came home with two bags of toys for her, she continued returning to her favourite bottle. It’s difficult to compete with classic toys.
I guess plastic bottles can’t really be considered to be classics, but Baby Girl doesn’t always prefer toys with lots of gimmicks. Wooden toys and classics we remember from our own childhood still seem to be some of the most exciting toys.
She loves the classic Fisher Price phone, which I’m sure she’ll like playing with for several years to come, and Grandma S just bought her the classic Fisher Price cash register, which is for children aged two years and up, but it was already a hit when we played with it together with her and ensured she didn’t chew on the coins.
In terms of wooden toys, I like the Brio pull-along toys, and I also have my eyes on a Moulin Roty wooden doll pram. Wooden and classic toys aren’t just for small kids. They’re for big kids too.
