Best diary for the new school year

Marie Chantal The Children's DiaryI’ve suddenly started going to bed an hour earlier than I used to. The reason is that I just want to sit there filling in my new Marie-Chantal Children’s Diary, which I’ve received for free to review. I had seen an email about this diary being released in August, and I instantly knew I would love it.

And I was absolutely right. I really enjoy having a beautiful book (£75/$120) for keeping track of playdates, nursery sessions, swimming lessons, music classes and babysitting appointments.

The Children’s Diary is leather-bound with gilt-edged pages and comes in turquoise or pink. It’s a bit too big to carry around for me, but I just want to keep it on my bedside table, or on the coffee table.

It’s got everything I need – and some more.

Baby Girl can play six musical instruments, have five pets and two vets for them. She can make four friends at nursery school, four in our neighbourhood, and I even have space to fill in a nanny’s birthday.

It’s still not this section that’s my favourite though. The Children’s Diary also includes city guides to London and New York, which got me really excited. I’m the type of person who loves guidebooks because it’s fun to flick through and confirm that I have good taste and know all the best places.

But when I opened this section, I was stunned. I didn’t know what Marie-Chantal knows. I had no idea about where to go for unique but ready-made party bags, and I was clueless about where to find a good fencing club.

Baby Girl and I will be so busy this school year. There are simply too many activities, playgrounds and restaurants to try out.
