0Best places for family brunch near Parsons Green
St Clements
Newly-opened St Clements (see picture above) on New King’s Road has become one of my regular hang outs, and on weekends we’ve been for brunch several times. The welcoming café boasts large windows open on sunny days, a street-side terrace and wide, rustic floor boards. There’s a refreshingly different all-day brunch menu on weekends, including egg dishes with a twist, pancakes and healthy options. There are high chairs for little ones and changing facilities downstairs. I also like the take-away babyccinos, which look very much like the real thing–just a mini version of my latte–and Baby Girl is a fan of the children’s cookies for sale.
Hally’s
We’ve also started meeting up with friends in Hally’s on New King’s Road, where one of the waitresses is always very sweet with Baby Girl, remembering her name and chatting away to her. The owners of Hally’s, a cool and relaxed cafe, were inspired by a road trip in California, and the decor, including white-painted brick walls and spots of colour such as yellow Tolix bar chairs, definitely reminds me of some of the places we visited last time we were in California too. There are high chairs/attachable seats for little ones, and there’s an all-day brunch menu on weekends with eggs, as well as more unique California-inspired dishes.
The Brown Cow
Fulham Road gastro pub The Brown Cow, a sibling to the popular pub The Sands End, is open for brunch on Saturdays when the pub opens at 10am, and it’s an ideal place to meet up for several families. We were eight when we last went, and it was fine to get a table without booking, and the food was delicious. The only challenge here is that there are no high chairs (or changing facilities), so it’s best to bring a portable high chair for little ones.
