With Baby Boy being number two, I felt I had all the white baby basics ready for him to pack in the hospital bag and wear in the early days. The problem was that it wasn’t as exciting to pack these hand-me-downs as the first time they were used, and that’s why I was thrilled to receive a soft and organic 5-piece cream set with baby basics in size 0-3 months (a generous size) from Natures Purest to review. I think this unisex set with teddy embroidery covers many of the essentials parents need for baby in the early days–cotton hat, scratch mitts, bib, body and sleepsuit–so it makes a lovely gift for a baby shower organised before mum-to-be has bought everything she needs or simply a brilliant starter set for expectant parents to buy. The set is also available with blue or pink details, both which look very sweet, but I picked the unisex one, as the clothes are now very easy to pair with other items. Cute and practical!

Jack and Jillaroo box frame gift set (£40)
When I spotted the beautiful Jack and Jillaroo dribble bibs in Pure Baby on Fulham Road the other day, I was impressed with how cute they looked and how soft the towelling felt. I’ve since received a few samples and found out that the towelling on these brilliant, handmade dribble bibs is made of organic cotton bamboo, which means it’s breathable, good for regulating temperature, and quick drying. The box frame sets from Jack and Jillaroo (see picture at the top) make for gorgeous and practical gifts. In addition to including the cute framed art for a nursery, it also includes Jack and Jillaroo’s double-sided dribble bib, single-sided dribble bib and burp cloth–all useful baby basics and exactly what baby needs to be comfortable and stylish!

I love the baby gift collection from childrenswear brand Marie-Chantal, and Baby Boy has been lucky enough to receive two adorable Marie Chantal angel wing sets – one from grandparents and one as a gift from Marie-Chantal. For starter gift sets with baby basics, the Marie-Chantal Baby Come Home gift set looks both cute and practical and includes a cotton onesie and body with a silver trim, a cotton hat embroidered with angel wings and a muslin cloth. Classic and sweet for a newborn!
