Best places for water play in London

London Zoo
When we last visited London Zoo on a beautiful June day, we came with our walking shoes and handbags, but what we really should have done was to pack for the beach. Baby Girl got hooked on the water play area, which is according to the signs cleaned in the same way as a swimming pool, and it was impossible to stop her from going in. She loved it so much that I can’t wait to take her back. She was running around in the sprinklers, laughing hysterically and looking like a bundle of joy. We’ll definitely be back – with a swimming costume, a towel and a change of clothes.

Science Museum
For rainy days, the basement in the Science Museum in South Kensington is a great destination for young children. I was really impressed with the water play area here the first time we visited, and I love the fact that there are coats to cover up little ones to avoid them getting wet. The only challenge is to leave this fun place!

Battersea Park Children’s Zoo
When you’re a South West London mum with young children, you soon realise there are a lot more reasons to go to Battersea Park Children’s Zoo than to visit the monkeys and emus. The massive playground at the zoo, which I’m a brand ambassador for, is brilliant for young children, and one of the most popular areas is the large sand and water play area. It’s an excellent place to play on warm summer days!
