Best time of day to travel with baby

Plastic toy jet planeIt’s probably the first time I’ve booked a short-haul flight at 1 o’clock in the afternoon. Flying at this time of day, is possibly the worst way to make the most of the day. But I also realised it’s the easiest time of day for me to fly with my nine-month old, who still naps twice a day.

In fact, Baby Girl and I had a very good flight on Wednesday. She had her morning nap in the taxi on the way to Heathrow Express, her lunch in the lounge, and her longer lunchtime nap on the plane. She was awake and happy when we went through security and later when we boarded the plane. I really can’t complain about being exhausted from travelling with Baby Girl after a trip like this.

On board, I even had a lovely hot lunch and a tiny glass of champagne, which was rather embarrassing to ask for with a sleeping baby in the lap.

But Baby Girl didn’t seem to mind the extravaganza. She was fast asleep on her SkyBaby bed and didn’t wake up before an hour later when she was due for her 3 o’clock milk feed, which coincided with the descent to Oslo.

Flying with baby is a joy–at 1 o’clock.

How lucky you are that she was asleep…My little ones are big enough to be impossible to fly with! And Oslo – jealous! I always wanted to visit Norway.
