Best way for tired mum to catch up on sleep

PlaypenI’ve told Daddy T he can look forward to life with a wife who has lots of energy when he comes home from work and always feels refreshed. I’ve come up with a new strategy. I’ve extended Baby Girl’s playpen and placed my pillow in a corner. It works wonders.

I’ve never wanted to catch up on sleep during the day before, but after making the mistake of travelling with a nine-month old at nine in the evening and not getting home before midnight on Sunday, I didn’t feel ready to start the day at 6.39 on Monday when Baby Girl wanted to get up.

After feeding her, I decided my only option was to have a nap in the playpen for as long as she would be happy to play on her own with me lying next to her.

It worked–at least for a bit. I even did it again in the afternoon when I was close to passing out once more. I’m sure Baby Girl isn’t thrilled with the set-up, but she can’t be too upset about being in the playpen for a few minutes when she doesn’t only have her usual toys, but also my hair to pull and all me to climb over. Anything for a power nap.
