Best way to keep baby entertained on the beach

Water and sand playBaby Girl did it. Our little star managed to play on her own on the beach. Just when I was starting to doubt how relaxing a holiday in the sun with a 10-month old would actually be, she survived half an hour without me entertaining her.

Saturday was her third day on the beach, and I felt terribly well-prepared by this point. We chose sun loungers on a flat decking where it would be easy to have Baby Girl’s UV tent and water play set, instead of in a slope in the sand.

It paid off. With the €8 Carrefour sand and water play set Grandpa P bought her the other day, we were all set. Creating a waterplay area on the decking turned out to be genius.

The Carrefour set included a bucket, spade, plastic beach toys and a mini inflatable pool, and Baby Girl sat in her tent in the shade splashing her hands in the pool outside.

I was watching her from my sun lounger, but was for once not needed in the tent. Well done, Baby Girl.
