0Best way to travel from London to Disneyland Paris
‘This is the way to travel’
Grandpa P was impressed. We were on a direct Eurostar train from Disneyland Paris to London, a trip which had been a special present to him after offering us a lot of help in the last year, and we had Standard Premier tickets, making the journey very civilised.
On the way over we had also taken Eurostar but changed in Lille and the trip had taken more than four hours in total with the wait. Going there, we had gone economy, which is absolutely fine, but we were clearly much happier with the return journey.
Grandpa P was absolutely right–comfy seats, drink and food service and magazines. The direct train service to Eurostar from London, which takes two hours and 40 minutes, really is a great way to travel to and from Disneyland when having the Premier seats and service. The train conveniently stops near the entrance gate, and although the security check on that side took longer than expected and it seemed worth being at the station close to an hour before departure, we had a smooth return journey.
The direct Eurostar service doesn’t currently operate at times making day trips to Disneyland from London easy to do by train, but it’s great to go at least one way direct when staying over one or more nights and children under 4 can sit in a parent’s lap.
For day trips, I would still opt to fly. In August, we travelled with British Airways from London Heathrow to Paris Orly. Paris Orly and Charles de Gaulle are both around half an hour to drive from Disneyland Paris, but we chose Paris Orly because it’s a smaller airport, and the journey seemed very efficient. We had pre-booked a car to meet us at the airport, and we managed to be in Disneyland Paris at around 10 in the morning when it opens.
Whether you’re flying or going by train, bring a lot of energy and a big smile and you’ll soon think Disneyland Paris is an easy trip from London!
