0Black cabs and dummies
There’s one person who must have been pleased Baby Girl started taking a dummy last week. It was the black cab driver who very kindly picked us up.
I guess he didn’t have much choice though as we had booked the cab via the Hailo app – partly because I was worried it would be difficult to hail a cab in the street with a Maxi-Cosi car seat with a crying Baby Girl in one arm and a bag full of nappies in the other. I assumed we would have been as popular as drunk teenagers hanging around outside a night club.
But the driver was actually very helpful. He showed me how to secure Baby Girl’s car seat – yet another instruction manual I haven’t read – and did not appear concerned when she started making a few of her little noises.
I was quite proud that I managed to ensure the little noises didn’t result in a 15-minute car journey with constant screaming though. So proud that we went straight to Boots to double Baby Girl’s dummy collection.
