0Where to find a unique blow dry and beauty bar with creche
Baby Girl and I have made several trips to Chiswick in West London in the past year to meet friends in High Road Brasserie, or browse furniture at The Old Cinema. But now I have a feeling we’ll be going even more regularly.
The reason is that Baby Girl has made a new friend in Blo Bar, a unique Chiswick blow dry and beauty bar with a free creche service. I was invited to try two treatments at Blo Bar, which opened last year, and Baby Girl, who has previously not been a fan of the creche concept, seemed to love this creche due to the lovely Rebecca working there and the dolls and doll equipment.
I think Blo Bar offers a brilliant service for new mums, who would otherwise struggle to find time to go for a blow dry or manicure. I felt safe leaving Baby Girl in the creche in the basement in the salon because Rebecca was very welcoming and chatted excitedly to Baby Girl.
The chairs in the blow dry bar are also equipped with tablets, which can be linked to a camera in the creche, so for mums who like to have extra reassurance, they can log on and see their little one.
The creche, which takes babies from seven weeks old and up, require advanced booking and there’s never more than two children per adult. When Baby Girl decided she wanted to see mummy, Rebecca simply took her up to show her that I was still there, resulting in a stress-free experience.
The main challenge was leaving, but we were kindly offered a complimentary cake to help distract Baby Girl on the way out.
And these are the little details I love about Blo Bar. They seem to understand how to make life easy for mums!
