2Buying a cot bed duvet for baby
Baby Girl doesn’t know it yet, but she is officially the proud owner of a cot bed duvet. Very exciting news for a 15-month old.
She’s never slept under a duvet before, and I wasn’t planning on getting her one before she was at least 18 months old–but I wasn’t expecting it to get this cold in London in November either. I’m finding it terribly difficult to get the temperature right inside, so I figured I needed to have a back-up duvet at hand instead.
I’m yet to unpack this back-up cot bed feather and down duvet from The White Company, but it feels good to know that it’s there.
Baby Girl doesn’t normally need a duvet as she’s slept in a merino sleeping bag, which I love, from when she stopped being swaddled at the age of nine weeks. But my only issue with the sleeping bag arrangement has been that I’ve misjudged how many layers to dress her in to keep her warm in the bag.
One night I started worrying that she could be cold and I didn’t want to wake her up to put extra layers on underneath the bag like I should have done, so I moved her into our room where it seemed to be warmer. It would have been easier to take her out of the sleeping bag and wrap her up under a duvet, and that’s what I’m doing if there’s ever a next time.
No more stressful nights moving a sleeping Baby Girl around.
Im having the same problem this week with my small boy’s Gro Bag, I tried putting a blanket over him during the night but he is a wiggle bum and loses covers very quickly. You’re not alone though, it’s so diffucult to judge the temperature during the night as it changes so much x
Good to know you’ve had the same problem! I really like the sleeping-bag concept, but they can be a little bit tricky when the temperature keeps changing.. Tine x
