0How to celebrate Halloween in London with kids
Pumpkin carving at Bluebird
Chelsea institution Bluebird is hosting a kids pumpkin carving event in The Food Store at 4pm on Thursday 20 and Thursday 27 October. We went to review the event last year, and Big Girl and I had a lovely afternoon, enjoying a hot chocolate and biscuits while sitting on a communal table attempting to carve a spooky pumpkin together. Tickets are £20 per child and include a mini pastry, hot chocolate and some juice.
Pumpkin carving at Fortnum & Mason
To get the house ready for Halloween, get the kids involved in pumpkin carving and join a two-hour session at London’s department store Fortnum & Mason with carving experts and prizes for best pumpkins. The Fortnum & Mason Halloween workshops are aimed at children aged 5 and over, and take place on Tuesday 25, Wednesday 26 and Thursday 27 October from 11am to 1pm and 2.30 to 4.30pm. Tickets are £20 per child plus booking fee.
Halloween icing class at Biscuiteers
The cute Biscuiteers boutique and icing cafe in Notting Hill is hosting a special Biscuiteers Halloween icing class for kids on Thursday 27 October from 11am to noon. During the lesson children will learn how to ice spooky biscuits and leave with a Biscuiteers apron, certificate of excellence and all their edible creations. Tickets are £36 per child and soft drinks will be provided.
Halloween party at Cupcake Club
Before the trick or treating starts on Monday 31 October, Parsons Green family club Cupcake Family Club is hosting their annual Halloween party from 3 to 5pm. Tickets are £10 for members and £15 for non-members.
Halloween party at Cuckoo Hibou
At the stylish boutique and kids workshop venue Cuckoo Hibou, there are two Halloween parties this year, with the first being from 10.30am to noon on Monday 31 October. The morning party is £10 per person and there will be a lunch buffet, as well as face painting and balloon modelling. The afternoon party (£5 per person) will start at 4pm on 31 October and continues until 7pm, after trick or treating will have started in the area, which typically gets very busy for Halloween. There will be goodies, games, balloons and a buffet at the afternoon party, and Cuckoo Hibou will also have costume competitions throughout the day.
Pumpkin trail at Battersea Park Children’s Zoo
From 22 to 30 October, kids can search for scary pumpkins around Battersea Park Children’s Zoo. Visitors can purchase a quiz sheet for £1 (usual entrance fee applies) and receive a prize after finding the pumpkins around the park.
