0Review: Celebrating Halloween with Viking
We’ve been counting down the days, and we can’t believe there’s only one sleep until the big day. Halloween feels a bit like Christmas at times.
The run up to 31 October typically includes some shopping and decorating–and the all important crafts.
The whole celebration is beyond exciting for little ones, and that’s why we ended up making crafts in Joe & the Juice on Fulham Road the other day. I had brought a pack of Halloween-themed arts material we’d received from Viking, the office supply and stationery company, and we all started making masks with coloured paper and string.
While two were keen to do masks in shapes of pumpkins, I figured I could have a go at making something to sort out my last-minute shopping needs. I’ve struggled to find the right animal ears for a costume, so instead I had a go at doing an animal mask, which I plan to add fur to.
The next day we got the pumpkin carving kit out from our set from Viking. The pumpkin had already been bought, which was not particularly popular as we’d missed the fact that picking the pumpkins was one of the best parts of this whole process.
The second best part seemed to be drawing pumpkin designs on paper, providing elaborate ideas for how this year’s pumpkins should look. Part of this activity also included choosing stencils, which we unfortunately decided were too advanced for our pumpkin carving skills.
But we have pumpkins, costumes and sweets. Bring on Halloween!
