0Celebrating New Year’s in London with young children
Baby Girl needs to have the best New Year’s ever. That’s why I started planning it more than a month ago.
We want to celebrate in London, but this year we’re not looking for a fancy dinner followed by live music and dance.
It’s not that we would mind a great event like that–but we want it all to happen before 6.30 in the evening to ensure we can be home by Baby Girl’s bedtime, and I’m yet to find a London restaurant hosting a toddler-friendly early NYE party.
Instead, I think one option would be to go to a fun restaurant like Hard Rock Cafe or Sticky Fingers. There are also several theatres we could take Baby Girl to for daytime performances to celebrate New Year’s. Peppa Pig Live (see Peppa Pig photo above by Adam Chapman) is on at the Criterion Theatre, and White, suitable for 2-4 year-olds, is on at Southbank Centre. In Hammersmith, Father Christmas – for under 6s – is on at Lyric Hammersmith.
This is bound to become a New Year’s to remember – even for a 16-month old.
