0Celebrating release of Elf Pets: Santa’s St Bernards Save Christmas
On Sunday morning we made dog bowls and met a dog that didn’t scare three-year-old Big Boy. It was a huge, cuddly St Bernard carrying a barrel with a heart charm. This charming character was at the screening of Elf Pets: Santa’s St Bernards Save Christmas together with an equally adorable friend – a Scout Elf.
Elf Pets: Santa’s St Bernards Save Christmas is a 26-minute long animation from the creators of The Elf on the Shelf. The short musical film made for a great way to kick of the family Christmas season and remembering what Christmas is all about.
It tells the story about a town where people forget the importance of helping others at Christmas time, and Santa discovers there is not enough Christmas spirit for the season to be magical. To save Christmas, good-hearted Scout Elves, which look like the magical Elves on the Shelf, come to the rescue and hatch a plan involving adorable Saint Bernard pups collecting Christmas cheer in their barrels.
One of these Saint Bernard pups come to a caring family where the dad runs a charity that is depending on food donations from the community. The children decide to help out by spending all their savings and pocket money on food for the charity, and when others see how the children are helping they follow suit and the Saint Bernard pup collects all the goodness in his barrel.
This Christmas film was ideal for the whole family to watch, and I liked the focus on acts of kindness at Christmas time. Children familiar with The Elf on the Shelf will also enjoy seeing how the elves come to life and their important role at Christmas time!
Elf Pets: Santa’s St Bernards Save Christmas is based on the Elf Pets toy range from The Elf on the Shelf and the film is now available on DVD and for digital download.
