Celebrating Surf’s Up 2: Wavemania DVD release with Sony

‘Look at this! Look at this!’

Big Girl found a new way to delay bedtime today. She wanted to show off her new surfing skills, inspired after a morning celebrating the DVD release of Surf’s Up 2: Wavemania and having a go at an inflatable surfer machine.

We had been invited to a screening of Surf’s Up 2: Wavemania, which is coming out on DVD tomorrow, and the sequel to the Academy Award nominated Surf’s Up, is a funny animation set to entertain both children and adults over the upcoming school holiday.

Daddy T and four-year-old Big Girl watched the film at the screening at the Sony HQ in London, and although Big Girl found it a bit scary at times, they both enjoyed the quirky penguin characters in the film and the storyline, highlighting the importance of friendship and teamwork.

The film follows surfer penguin Cody, who sets out to become a member of extreme surfer crew The Hang 5. To show the group he’s up for the challenge to be part of the group, he has to surf the biggest waves in the world and prove he has the right skills. Cody soon discovers that the life he left behind might be more heroic than what any death-defying wave has to offer.

The surfer penguins are voiced by WWE Superstars John Cena, Undertaker, Triple H, Paige and Mr. McMahon, and the film is a co-financed production between Sony Pictures Animation and WWE Studios.

One to look out for to get in holiday mode (particularly if you have slightly older children than us)!

Surf’s Up 2 is out on DVD on Monday 20 March
