Celebrating Valentine’s Day in London with children

Ice your own sweetheart at Biscuiteers
Head to Biscuiteers (see picture above) in Notting Hill or on Northcote Road in Battersea between Monday 9 and Saturday 14 February to decorate heart-shaped and Valentine’s-themed biscuits. The Valentine’s themed icing café is £15 per person and includes 3 biscuits (additional biscuits are £2 each), icing and decorations and a gift box for one of the biscuits. Little ones can also colour in the bag their biscuits are packed in, and they get to choose one biscuit to put in a beautiful gift box.

Create Valentine’s Day-themed art at Sammy Duder
On Tuesday morning from 10-11am, the weekly drop-in art class at pottery studio Sammy Duder in Battersea will help you get in the spirit of Valentine’s Day. The art class, which is aimed at children aged 2-4 years, will have a Valentine’s Day theme this week, and bookings are recommended. The class (from 10-11am) is £10 per person, and this includes free coffee and tea for mums and carers.

Decorate heart-shaped cookies at Bluebird
On Wednesday 11 February, children can join the cookie decorating workshop in the Food Store at Bluebird in Chelsea, where they can decorate heart-shaped cookies. There will be icing and decorations, and they can take home their own creations. Tickets are £15 each, including materials and refreshments, and bookings are taken via email.

Join the Valentine’s Day fun at Battersea Park Children’s Zoo
On Valentine’s Day on Saturday 14 February, the zookeepers at Battersea Park Children’s Zoo will prepare the animals’ food in heart shapes, and visitors can come watch at different feeding times from 11am in the morning. There will also be drop-in colouring and sticking sessions from 11am-12.30pm and 1.30-3.30pm.

Take a Valentine Cookie Workshop at Cupcake Family Club
Start Valentine’s Day with cookie decorating at Cupcake Family Club in Parsons Green, where there will be biscuits, melted chocolate and candy. Places can be booked online for £15 per child (members £10), and this includes materials and take-away gift wrap.
