0Chelsea Swim Spa for swimming lessons and pool playdates
When I was walking down Edith Grove in Chelsea the other day I thought I was looking for a ground floor commercial property with a big sign with a pool. But what awaited me was a lovely house with a grand entrance and a team ready to help me up the stairs with the buggy, which I could park in the family’s living room.
Chelsea mum Darya has made the most of her home, starting Chelsea Swim Spa to offer swimming lessons and private hire of her hydropool.
The pool, which looks like a giant jacuzzi, is suitable for children and adults alike, and parents will like the private feel and welcoming atmosphere at Chelsea Swim Spa. For baby swimming, I also like that the temperature is kept at 33 degrees or above, and for more advanced swimmers it’s worth knowing that it’s possible to practise swimming against the current.
The basement space has been designed to suit families, and there are a number of changing tables, beach-hut style tents for changing, toilets and a cot for keeping kids safe while mums get ready.
There are now 90 babies and children swimming at Chelsea Swim Spa during the two and a half days when an experienced swimming instructor is teaching there, and on Tuesdays and Wednesdays and Friday afternoon the pool is available for private hire for £50 for 90 minutes.
In fact, with the affordable private hire fee, Chelsea Swim Spa can now make a fun venue for an antenatal group meet-up or play date.
A little hidden gem in Chelsea!
