0Choosing a doll for a one-year old
I was in the middle of working on a freelance project on Thursday morning when suddenly an ad for dolls popped up in the sidebar on the financial technology website I was browsing. The ad was quite the contrast to the text-heavy site. It was bright pink and offered me to join a loyalty scheme to get discounts on dolls. If I’d had a normal office job, I would have been busted. With pink ads everywhere on websites I visit now, it’s pretty obvious I’ve been using my computer to Google dolls recently.
But dolls are certainly worth researching for a mum of a one-year old. I’m sure Baby Girl will be pleased to hear that I’ve spent a number of evenings making sure she gets the best possible doll for her birthday.
After my internet research, I’ve realised we should have bought a doll in France. Several of the brands I like are French, with my two favourites being Petitcollin and Corolle.
Baby Girl ended up with Corolle, as I wanted to go to a shop to pick out this doll, and Corolle was easier to find. I’ve only seen a few Petitcollin dolls in Igloo Kids in King’s Road, while Harrods had a pretty good selection of Corolle dolls, accessories and doll prams. And Baby Girl and I do like our accessories.
