3Christmas gift ideas: Creating photo presents for grandparents
We’ll not be buying any socks and scarves for grandfathers this year. Instead, it’s all about framed photos and photo books.
I typically find that grandmothers are relatively easy to buy Christmas presents for, but grandfathers are ten times more difficult.
But that’s also why grandfathers are great when looking for a reason to buy more photos from a photo shoot. It all makes financial sense when it’s about finding presents for the older generation.
When we went to the photo viewing the day after our family photo shoot at Snappy Snaps in King’s Road last weekend we instantly picked one image for our Christmas card, but it was also tempting to take a few more. It didn’t take long before we had ordered four additional images for £175.
Yesterday we bought some modern stainless steel Georg Jensen frames, framed the images and gift wrapped the boxes, which are now ready to be delivered by Santa together with our annual iPhoto ‘Year in Review’ photo books. Lucky grandparents!
Hi – love your blog – we are so on the same wavelength! Can I ask – how are you printing out your christmas cards ? I have my card photo shoot with my babies tomorrow and not sure what’s the best way to make it into cards. Thanks !
Thank you! Glad to hear you like the blog. I had the photos printed at Snappy Snaps, and chose the 7×5 size. I’m then sticking them into our A5 Christmas cards. This year, my daughter has made Christmas cards in nursery, which we could order via Total Knockout. It’s a bit more work sticking the photos into the cards, but since we have the one studio photo, I think it looks nice! Good luck with your shoot!
Thank you – sounds great
