0Finding fun Christmas outfits for babies and toddlers
I’ve never felt more disorganised than when I was out shopping for Christmas outfits for Baby Girl this week. It’s apparently not very common to come the week before Christmas. It didn’t matter that I was prepared to be flexible. It was still difficult to track down anything Baby Girl could wear to a dress-up day at nursery.
After trawling up and down King’s Road without any luck, I decided to venture a bit further away. In the quirky toy shop Semmalina in Ebury Street, I found beautiful, handmade tulle dresses by Dainty Dizzy in red and green, which would make a stunning Christmas outfit for a little girl. They also have fun Christmas pudding tights for babies in Semmalina, but the tights were a bit too small and the dresses were a bit too big for Baby Girl. Next year!
Instead, I drove to Wandsworth Bridge Road to Circus Circus. I’ve been to this party shop several times to buy balloons or fill balloons with helium in the last few months, and I found out that they also have Christmas costumes.
This was the first place I managed to find a Santa hat (£1.99) to fit 15-month old Baby Girl. There were few outfits for toddlers left, but they did have an elf costume and a Christmas tree that could have worked. I decided to stick with the hat, however, as she has red tights and a dress she can wear together with the hat and a tiny bit of water-based face paint in her cheeks.
Bring on Christmas!
