Clearing baby’s blocked nose

It’s said that people often stay healthy when they have a busy schedule, but then get ill as soon as they relax. This doesn’t seem to apply to Baby Girl. Her schedule was completely packed, but she still managed to wake up with a snotty nose yesterday.

She seems to have a proper cold now. Her nose sounds blocked, and we keep having to use the NUK nasal decongester and a saline nasal spray from Calpol. In addition, we’ve filled the bath tub with hot water and opened the door between the bathroom and the bedroom where she’s sleeping.

But Baby Girl is still smiling. It is me who is the most upset. I had planned the perfect December weekend for Baby Girl, and now we had to cancel everything and stay at home – again. No spa. No Santa. This can’t possibly be how Baby Girl expected a pre-Christmas weekend to be like.

True, babies need the help of their parents in situations like these especially because they have not mastered breathing through the mouth… Must say the NUK nasal decongester looks quite interesting.
