Creating personalised Christmas decorations at Sammy Duder

‘Do you want to paint a snowman to hang on our Christmas tree for Daddy?’
‘Eeeh. Yes.’

Baby Girl quickly changed her mind about painting on Tuesday when she realised she got to sit in the relaxed Sammy Duder studio in Battersea and paint sweet Christmas tree decorations, which she could give to grandparents and Daddy T for Christmas.

She got to make her very own Christmas presents and couldn’t be more pleased with her afternoon activity. There were a wide variety of shapes to choose from, including hearts, stars, gingerbreadmen, Christmas stockings and snowmen.

I like coming to Sammy Duder because of the welcoming atmosphere, and now in the run up to Christmas, I also loved that it was beautifully decorated with the same Christmas tree decorations customers can paint, making it easy to feel inspired.

Baby Girl, however, had her own idea about how to decorate her pottery. The decorations she painted have little fingerprints in pink and yellow on one side, and some dashes of green and red on the other side.

I’m sure they will turn out great when they’re glazed too – particularly because Sammy Duder offers a writing service, so one of the friendly staff will write her name and ‘Christmas 2014’ on each of the little decorations.

A fun afternoon for me and Baby Girl, and truly special Christmas presents for relatives!

Sammy Duder now has a collection of Christmas tree decorations to paint starting from £4 and Christmas baubles for £15. There’s also a studio fee of £5, which I didn’t pay on this visit
