Decorating children’s bedrooms: Top tips for bed linen and accessories

After moving into a new house this weekend, I was super excited to show Baby Girl her new pink bedroom, but I’m yet to get the reaction I’ve been hoping for. So far, she’s headed straight for the door every time I’ve taken her into the room, which is not exactly finished and still lacks wall art and personality.

To get the ‘wow’ factor I have a feeling we’ll be doing a bit of shopping and here are some of the places I’ll turn to for stylish bed linen and accessories:

Harriet Hare
Baby Girl has received a sample from Harriet Hare, a beautiful children’s bed linen set in dusty pink (see picture above). The fabric is soft and silky, and it feels like the type of high quality bed linen you would expect to find in a five-star hotel. The duvet cover is reversible, so you can choose between two shades of pink, and Harriet Hare also offers matching flat sheets, cushions and lampshades. It all looks very stylish , and my only concern about Baby Girl sleeping in the fantastic £75 Harriet Hare bed linen is really that she might get a tad spoilt!

Sheridan Junior Collection A/W 2014Sheridan
I went to the autumn/winter 2014 press day for Australian-brand Sheridan the other week, and I loved the new styles featured in the junior collection, including the cute cushion with a goose print (see picture). Sheridan has a range of decorative cushions and children’s bed linen, and I love the animal-shaped cushions and prints. Earlier this year Sheridan, which has a shop on King’s Road in Chelsea, launched a baby range too, and Sheridan is now a brilliant place to shop for items for baby’s nursery, such as sleeping bags, wraps and blankets in soft hues.

Bobo Kids
When I was pregnant with Baby Girl, I frequently visited Bobo Kids in Chelsea, which is a great place to go when decorating nurseries or children’s bedrooms. Baby Girl has several cushions from Bobo Kids in her room, and the interior children’s shop also stocks a selection of bed linen–in addition to everything else from furniture to wall art.
